Will OvoControl Work at Our Facility?

We often get the question from new customers, "How can we tell if OvoControl will work at our facility?"

The short answer is that there are precious few examples where OvoControl has not worked. Nevertheless, pigeon-impacted sites, especially those without experience in a baiting program, want to first know if their birds are "trainable" - will they show up at the automatic feeder each morning?

There is actually a really easy solution for modeling the automatic feeder performance and the response of the pigeon flock(s). Simply install one or more automatic feeders and load them each with 25 to 50 pounds of cracked corn. Set the clock to trigger once-a-day at sunrise. Allow the birds to find the bait and become conditioned to the daily feeding event. After a week or two, the birds should show up before the feeder triggers. At this point, they are "conditioned" to the program.

If the birds show up for cracked corn they will arrive as scheduled for their OvoControl dose as well. Simply transition from cracked corn to OvoControl and start the birds on a contraceptive program. The population of treated birds will decline at a rate of 50%, annually, and come to equilibrium at approximately 5 to 10% of the starting point.

Even if you are using or considering other methods, OvoControl can be integrated into your pigeon control program for a better and faster outcome.

OvoControl is a ready-to-use bait, dispensed on flat rooftops with an automatic wildlife feeder. This effective and humane technology is especially useful for managing birds in larger areas without having to resort to poisons or labor-intensive trapping programs.
